DataShop Web Services User Agreement
Updated August 3, 2011
In this agreement, we describe how you can and cannot use DataShop Web Services, and how our Services may change over time. This is not a legal agreement, but an informal contract that you understand our concerns and the risks of using DataShop Web Services, and agree to follow our guidelines.
Once you accept this agreement and request access, we will review your account and grant you access. Should you not hear from us within three business days, please contact us with a kind reminder.
1.1 Permitted Uses
You may write a software application or web site that interfaces with the Services, provided you are the only person with access. We may change, deprecate or republish APIs for any feature from time to time, and it is your responsibility to ensure that calls you make the Services are compatible with the then-current API. We may change or remove features or functionality of the Services at any time.
You may make network calls or requests to the Services at any time that the Services are available, provided that, you (or if you build and release an application, each installed copy of your application) do not exceed the maximum file size or maximum calls per second limit set forth in the Users Guide. If we notice that you are exceeding these limits, we may contact you via email about your use, throttle your use, or suspend your account.
1.2. Restricted Uses
You may not interfere or attempt to interfere in any manner with the functionality or proper working of the Services.
You may not create a web application that uses DataShop Web Services to directly access data, regardless of whether you own the data, unless the only user is yourself.
1.3 Accounts and Keys
You may only create one account per email address.
DataShop Web Services accounts are associated with one public key/private key pair, which is used to access the service. Private keys are for your personal use only, and you may not sell, transfer, or otherwise disclose your private key to any other party. You may use your public key in the open in requests to DataShop Web Services; your public key is therefore not secret. However, you are responsible for maintaining the secrecy and security of your private key. You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account, regardless of whether such activities are undertaken by you or a third party. Therefore, you should contact us immediately if you believe a third party may be using your private key, or if your private key is otherwise lost or stolen. You are responsible for maintaining up-to-date and accurate information (including contact information) for your DataShop account. We are not responsible for any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
